Are we willing?

I’ve been online producing daily content for close to 6 years now and nearly daily since 2017. Yesterday, I announced that I would be leaving social media. 

When we have outgrown places, spaces, people and versions of ourselves, it’s so easy to hold on for dear life in fear of what letting go means. Will we be ok? What does the future hold? Am I making the right decision? 

The answer isn’t always clear and often we are called by God to walk away from things without fully understanding why and how it will all pan out. 

Many of our beloved Bible characters are called to this. Abrahm, asked to sacrifice his only and much loved son, the Israleites when entering the wilderness and of course each disciple of Jesus is called to “deny himself, pick up his cross and follow Him.

How attached do we become to the known that we are so unwilling to move into the unknown even if there is more for us that we could possibly imagine. 

In the footsteps of Jesus, we are called to live by faith, not by sight. In this new era, I don’t know where I am called but I knew the time was done on social media; at the very least that iteration and that energy.

Have faith that even though you must lay down your precious flower, our Heavenly Father has a bouquet waiting for you…..but first you must sacrifice your crown and trust Him.
