Blocks to Faith

As I sat with the Lord this morning and his words poured out of me onto my pages of my journal, I realised how important it is for us to be able to master our minds when it comes to our walk with Jesus. 

Because we are called to be his disciples, we are called to walk in his footsteps. We are called to go beyond our fleshly desires and the worldly promises and follow him. 

Yet temptation is everywhere. Deceit is abundant, corruption is rife. So how do we determine what is God's and what is our own?

For over 15 years I have worked in personal and professional development and one thing is very clear to me when it comes to human behavior; fear is at the center of our minds and if our minds are in charge, then our spirits are not. 

In Romans 8:6 we are told that the mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the spirit is life and peace. 

Are we as people of Faith,  governed by our flesh and minds or are we governed by our faith?

It's likely to be a little bit of both, and I believe that we could all go with more mind training to avoid the temptation that this world offers us on a daily basis so that we may be better stewards of the mighty name of Jesus.
